Friday evening marked Senior night for winter sport student athletes on Friday as both the Cyclones girl's and boy's basketball teams squared off against the David Crockett Pioneers. But before the festivities could get underway, it was time for the Lady Cyclones to go to battle.
After a competitive first half against a dominant Lady Pioneer squad, Elizabethton would cool off coming out of the break, falling by a final of 55-33.
Ther Lady Cyclones had the hot hand to get the first period started, with

Reagan May, and
Rylee May all draining a triple during the quarter. Headed into the second, Elizabethton trailed by one, 12-11.
The second quarter saw the Lady Cyclones continue to use the long ball, hitting two more three pointers in the quarter, while keeping the Lady Pioneers in check on the other end. Headed into the break, David Crockett had slightly increased their lead, 26-21.
Coming out of halftime the Lady Cyclones were struggling on the offensive end, but made up for it on defense, only allowing 9 points from the Lady Pioneers in the quarter. Heading into the final eight minutes of play, Elizabethton trailed 35-27.
Coming down the home stretch, David Crockett could not seem to miss, netting 4 triples in the final period. In the end, the Lady Cyclones were unable to get the job done, dropping the first of two varsity contests, 55-33.
