It was a hard fought battle against West Ridge on Tuesday night, but in the end the Lady Cyclones would come up just short in a contest that needed an extra period to decide a winner.
It was punch-counterpunch in the opening stages, with West Ridge taking an 11-8 advantage after one, and the Lady Cyclones holding a 25-24 lead at the break.
This trend would continue throughout the contest, as four quarters would not be enough to decide it. Both teams were deadlocked at 60 apiece at the end of regulation.
The overtime period belonged to the Wolves however, as West Ridge went on to win by a score of 72-64.
Kayelyn Nave led Elizabethton in the scoring department with 16 points, while
Rylee May finished with 14.Â
The Lady Cyclones are back at John Treadway Gymnasium on Thursday, taking on the Sevier County Smoky Bears.Â
