It was a Saturday sweep for Elizabethton High School on the hardwood, with both men's and women's basketball getting it done in their respective holiday tournament clashes.
First, it was the men's basketball team wrapping up their appearance in the West Ridge FCA classic, defeating Chilhowee by a final of 66-62.
It was an impressive scoring performance by
Andrew Barnett, who led the Cyclones in the scoring department with 23 points. Following closely it was
Nathan Bailey who added 17 of his own, with
Hudson Pate contributing 12 in the win.
The Cyclones are back in action on December 27th, where they square off against KACHEA once again at 7:00 PM in the Warrior Classic at Happy Valley High School
On the women's side, it was the Lady Cyclones taking part in their final contest of the Doc Maples Holiday Hoops Tournament at Tennessee. Elizabethton left no doubt, defeating the Volunteer Falcons by a score of 71-48.
The Lady Cyclones were led by a scorching hot scoring performance by
Rylee May, who put up 25 points in the win, including 3 long range baskets. Other key contributers include
Reagan May who added 14 to the total, and
Kayelyn Nave who scored 13.
The Lady Cyclones are off until December 27th, where they will take on Leslie County, KY at 9:00 AM in their first game in the Hilton Sandestin Invitational in Destin Florida.Â
