With Christmas only days away, that can only mean one thing: holiday basketball tournaments. And on Thursday, both the Men's and Women's Cyclone basketball teams hit the road to begin playing in two different events.
First, the Lady Cyclones traveled to Tennessee High to take on the Wildcats of Scottsboro, Alabama in the Doc Maples Holliday Hoops Tournament. It was a hard fought contest throughout, but the Lady Cyclones would fall in a tough 54-44 loss.
There were several key contributors for the Lady Cyclones, with
Peyton McGee,
Reagan May,
Kayelyn Nave, and
Jamira Smalls all scoring 9 points.
With the loss, the Lady Cyclones will take on the Greeneville Greene Devils at 3:00 PM tomorrow.
For the men's team, they made their way to West Ridge to face off against KACHEAÂ in the FCA Classic, where the Cyclones handled the Wildcats in a 60-42 victory.Â
In the win, the Cyclones were led by both
Hudson Pate and
Nathan Bailey who each contributed 12 points.
Hudson Smith added 9, with
Justin Whitehead and
Andrew Barnett each scoring 8.
The Cyclones will be back at West Ridge on Saturday, where they will take on Chilhowee, Virginia at 12:00 PM
