In a packed Saturday filled with basketball, the boys Cyclone and Lady Cyclone teams both picked up valuable non-conference wins to close out the week.
The day began with the Lady Cyclones facing off against Dobyns Bennett.
Adrian Heading's sharp shooting effort lead the scoring efforts with a season-high 20 points, driving to the basket and consistent from beyond the arc.
Reagan May also made significant contributions with 14 points, helping the Lady Cyclones secure the 68-50 victory over Dobyns Bennett in a non-conference contest.
In the boys game, the Cyclones hit the road with a matchup against the Happy Valley Warriors.
Justin Whitehead had another hot shooting performance, racking up 35 points including 9 conversions from 3-point land.
Justius Wallin and
Jackson Buckles both had solid afternoons pouring in 11 apiece for the Cyclones to secure the 75-58 win.
The boys return home to John L. Treadway Gymnasium on Tuesday to face the Morristown East Hurricanes. Junior Varsity play begins at 6:00 and Varsity follows at 7:30. The Lady Cyclones head to Bristol for game one of the Doc Maples Classic on Thursday.
