The Elizabethton Lady Cyclones volleyball team went toe-to-toe with rival Greeneville on Tuesday night in a conference matchup that kept fans on the edge of their seats. After five hard-fought sets, the Lady Cyclones came away with a 3–2 victory over the Lady Devils.

Set scores were 19–25, 25–20, 25–21, 20–25, and 15–9.

Greeneville struck first, taking the opening set 25–19, but Elizabethton answered right back in the second. The Lady Cyclones were able to pull away late, thanks to some strong attacks to even the match at one a piece with a 25–20 win.

The third set turned out to be one of the most important of the night. Elizabethton jumped out to a big lead early behind the steady attacking of Jasy Shell and Ainsley Wampler, but Greeneville battled back to close the gap. With the momentum beginning to shift, the Lady Cyclones dug in defensively and held on for a 25–21 victory to take a 2–1 lead in the match.

Greeneville refused to go away, taking the fourth set 25–20 and forcing a winner-take-all fifth. With the match on the line, Elizabethton played with confidence and energy, using a balanced attack and tough defense to control the set. The Lady Cyclones closed out the night with a 15–9 win to take the match.

Elizabethton's victory was a full-team effort. Defensively, players like Maddie Moore, Sydney Minton, and Kinsley Brittain made key stops and kept rallies alive, while the offense found its rhythm behind the consistent play of Shell, Wampler, and Abby Gwinn. Each brought momentum-shifting plays throughout the match, and together, a hard-fought effort by the entire squad powered the Cyclones to a hard-earned win.
