Recently, the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) revealed their All-State Teams for the fall sport season, and two Cyclone Student Athletes had the honor of being selected to these lists. 

In Cyclone Cross Country, Freshman Vella Nave earned all-state honors after finishing 4th overall individually in the TSSAA Cross Country State Championship in Hendersonville, TN.

Nave, notching an impressive finish, also finished with a new Elizabethton High School 5k record of 18:55.53. This marked the third time in the same season that Nave had broken the school record.

Other instances where nave shattered the school record include the Fender's Farm Cross Country Carnival with a time of 19:39.73, and the Jesse Owens Classic with a time of 19:24.54

Nave also helped lead the Cyclones women's cross country team to a placement of 5th overall at the state championship meet.

Ava George Wilber, a member of the Lady Cyclone Volleyball team this fall, saw her spectacular season pay off with all-state honors as well.

In her senior season, Wilber totaled a staggering 214 kills on 300 attack attempts. Wilber also added 23 aces to her resume, while notching 70 total blocks during the campaign.

Wilber helped lead the Lady Cyclone Volleyball to a 21-11 overall record during the 2024 season, including a 10-0 regular season conference record.

The season marked the first ever outright conference championship in program history. The Lady Cyclones kept it rolling through the post season, finishing 2nd overall in both the conference and region tournaments, and making it to the state sectional round, one step short of the TSSAA State Tournament.
