Cyclone Baseball surging through midway point of 2025 Season

The Elizabethton Cyclones baseball team has reached the midway point of the 2025 season with momentum on its side and its eyes firmly set on a deep postseason run.

Under the leadership of first year Head Coach Michael Corn, the Cyclones have put together an impressive campaign so far, boasting a 15-8 overall record and a commanding 7-1 mark in conference play.

The season began with several tightly contested matchups, but Elizabethton quickly found its rhythm in district competition. The team's lone conference loss came early, but the Cyclones responded with a string of wins that reestablished their dominance in District 1-3A.

Key non-conference victories this spring include a stellar 10-2 win over Daniel Boone and a gritty 8-7 triumph against West Ridge. In conference play, the Cyclones were on fire to open things up, taking their first  seven contests against district opponents in the form of Sullivan East, David Crockett, Tennessee High, and Unicoi County. Overall, Elizabethton was able to notch an impressive 12-game win streak in the month of March, spanning from March 14th all the way until April 2nd. Thus far into the campaign, the Cyclones have been scoring runs at a premium, putting up an impressive 148 in 23 games.

Pitching depth, clutch hitting, and coming through in tight situations have been the story of the season thus far. With a solid rotation on the mound and contributions up and down the batting order, Elizabethton has consistently outmatched opponents when it matters most.

Perhaps even more impressive is the Cyclones' home-field presence. At Northeast Community Credit Union Ballpark, the team has been especially tough to beat, feeding off local support to grind out key conference wins.

With the second half of the regular season now underway, the Cyclones are preparing for critical district matchups that will determine their postseason seeding. Elizabethton is hoping to continue the success they saw through the first half of the campaign and be a major contender as tournament play approaches.
